Two Young Men Try To Burn A Mayor Eastern Algeria

Two young men raided the headquarters of the municipality of Sidi Rached in the state of Tipaza (western Algiers) in their car on Monday.

They poured gasoline in the waiting hall and the hall that is leading to the mayor’s office, and tried to burn him. Fortunately, he was absent at the time, which caused panic among the staff who fled to the square of the municipality headquarters.

According to eyewitnesses in the municipality of Sidi Rached, the two youths stormed the municipality’s headquarters at about 3 PM after they parked their car in the municipality’s square parking while carrying a quantity of gasoline and poured it into the waiting hall and the hall that is leading to the mayor’s office, who was not there, and one of them threw gasoline on his body before he fell unconscious.

The municipality’s staff rushed in different directions as soon as they smell gasoline, causing injuries to o woman who was overwhelmed by the chaos in Sidi Rached municipality’s building.

On the other hand, the security services intervened and besieged the municipality’s headquarters before they were able to arrest the two young men and take them to the urban security headquarters to investigate with them about the motives of their attempt to burn the municipality and attack the mayor and to listen to the statements of some of employees in the municipality.

Echorouk learned that the two men have two shops in the covered municipal market, but they are engaged in anarchist trade, which is likely to be the cause of revenge on the Mayor, who launched a war on chaotic trade, while other sources indicated that the exclusion of the actors from the list of beneficiaries of housing, is the cause of terror within the municipality headquarter, and investigations are expected to reveal the real reason, but they tried to burn the municipality and the attack on the Mayor.
