UAE, Algeria to boost trade ties

ALGIERS — The UAE-Algerian Joint Committee concluded its meetings here on Saturday with two sides reiterating desire to further boost bilateral relations and cooperation.

 

 

  • Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy, who headed the UAE’s delegation to the meetings, lauded the positive outcome of the meetings, adding that the two sides agreed to boost the role of Algerian-UAE Business Council in order to promote trade exchange and to increase investments.
  • The meetings was attended by senior executives from various government sectors in the UAE, and discussed strategic areas of cooperation between both countries in the fields of investments, civil aviation, energy, industry and finance.
  • Al Mansoori said the committee welcomed the Memorandums of Understanding the Algerian Exports development Agency signed with Dubai Export Development Corporation and Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development.
  • On avoidance of double taxation on revenues, the two sides agreed to hold a meeting between officials of the finance ministries to draft a protocol for implementing the agreement.
  • Al Mansoori urged Algerian officials to facilitate procedures for Emirati investors interested to invest in Algeria and invited businesses to leverage the positive growth environment offered by the UAE, especially in infrastructure, financial services, retail, health, aviation services, telecommunications and technology.
