University teacher found dead in Oran

The corpse of the of the university teacher Ahmed kroumi was found in the Social Democratic Movement party premises located Saint Michel street in Oran, western Algeria, four days after going missing.

• The professor (53) was discovered by one of the party’s militants and informed the security forces who launched a large scale research operation.

•  They have sealed off the premises and opened an investigation to find out the real causes behind this tragic death.

•  

• The forensic have transported the corpse in an ambulance at around 3 pm amid mounting speculations surrounding the circumstances of his death, but the security forces declined to give further details so far.

• According to information collected by Echourouk, Professor Kroumi left his working place at the Cultural and Anthropological Research Center on board of his car towards an unknown destination after receiving a phone call from an individual.

• The late professor was an active militant in the aforementioned party before joining the National Coordination for Forces of Change and Democracy and took part to various marches organized by this movement.

• He led a popular rally few weeks ago at one of the cinemas in Oran and expressed his political view over a political and social change in Algeria in an intervention with the Arab Satellite news “ Al Jazeera”.

• The spokesman of the regional bureau of the Human Rights League Keddour Chouicha declined linking the death of the professor to his political activities.
