Venomous and spiteful Egyptian press leaps back
Samir Zaher

After a short lull in their blameworthy disparagement campaign against Algeria, the venomous Egyptian satellite TV Channels have leapt back by leveling serious accusations against Algeria and Angola, alleging shamelessly that their recent Africa Cup of Nations fixture was “a put up job”, as they wrongly surmise.

  • The spiteful Egyptian media who have not as yet swallowed their national squad’s logical elimination from the 2010 World Cup at the hands of the valiant Greens of Algeria, have now embarked anew on a smearing campaign against both Algeria and Angola, saying that last Monday’s match between their national squads had been fixed in advance to allow both of them to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
  •
  • However, in the eyes of all fair-minded and respectful sports commentators and the public as well, these kind of gross Egyptian accusations are utterly ludicrous and baseless as they come from crooked minds intent on hoodwinking the football lovers.
  •
  • The pitiful Egyptian press has again plunged headlong into the marshlands of lies, hypocricy, distortion of the truths and disinformation in a desperate attempt to delude the public opinion in Egypt and elsewhere.
  •
  • These shoddy Egyptian TV channels blatantly stoop to anything to get heard on the part of their viewers.
  •
  • As usual, the paltry chairman of the Egyptian football Federation, Samir Zaher, stands at the forefront of this renewed shameful smearing campaign against Algeria by indulging in fiery and low-down statements in defiance of any human decency.
  •
  • He called on the Egyptian authorities to set up an air-lift from Cairo to Angola with thousands of Egyptian supporters to back the lackluster Egypt squad, obviously fearing a possible confrontation with the dreadful Algerian national team in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations competition.
  •
  • This proverb suits perfectly the incorrigible and mendacious agitator Samir Zaher and his hopeless henchmen: “Once bitten, twice shy”.
  •
  • Unfortunately, the spiteful Egyptian media can’t get enough of their despicable job. Anyway, The Arab and world public opinion can’t be fooled by the repeated Egyptian ravings!
