Veterinarians to examine the sacrificial animals for free
Head of the Unit on behalf of Algiers Rouisseau abbatoir, Nasreddine Sebbai, called upon all Algiers residents, who are concerned with slaughter on Eid Al-Fitr, to visit their services to view their sacrificial animals to abattoirs’ veterinarians, if they doubt the validity or the appearance of some symptoms.
They also can slaughter animals in various rooms in the abattoir, and this in coordination with the persons in charge of the process, denying at the same time what some of rumours said regarding the marketing of sick meat in parallel with the uproar that was caused by the foot and mouth disease.
“It is impossibility to market or sell any kind of meat that carries the label of an unhealthy abattoir, without going through the three stages ofhealth monitoring”.
Sebbai said in an exclusive interview with “Echorouk” that since the emergence of the foot and mouth disease in Algeria, the abattoirs’ administration decides to take the necessary precautions and procedures that are required after the instruction that was sent by the InteriorMinistry, and the first cases that were recorded on last July were mostly coming from eastern Algeria, including the region of Bir Al-Ather.
“This disease reaches the capital, and the he first cases were recorded in the areas of Cheragua, Balouta and Staouali early last August, after the Veterinary services in the municipalities that are concerned with certificates of directing the slaughter in Rouisseau, and livestock are examined by veterinarians.”
