Villagers pressure terrorists to release an abducted salesman

The Imam of the village of “Freha” in the province of Tizi Ouzou ( 100 KMS east of Algiers) has called on the terrorists who kidnapped one of the businessmen to release him immediately, warning them that the victim was ill and didn’t take his medicines since three days.

• The preacher has launched his call before hundreds of people that flocked from the neigboring villages and rallied by the town hall yesterday.

• The village of ‘Freha” was completely paralyzed yesterday in the aftermath of the general strike decided by the shopkeepers as a gesture of solidarity for their fellow citizen.

• The villagers are pressuring the terrorists to release the young man after launching a large scale combing operation in the neighboring forests. Another meeting is slated today to discuss the latest developments.

• They are resilient to do the same as the inhabitants of the village of “Iflissen” when hundreds took to the forests in order to force the terrorists to release a restaurant’s owner abducted in November 2009.

• It should be noted that the victim was kidnapped on Sunday by the terrorists who got in touch with his family asking for 30 million Algerian Dinars as a ransom for his release
