Walis or Governors and Mayors of southern Algeria brace up to cope with “Daesh” terrorists

Local authorities in the southern wilayas or provinces of Algeria were instructed to conduct awareness-raising campaigns towards the inhabitants of these regions about the risks and challenges they will face in the border areas with Libya.

According to Echorouk’s sources, these requested campaigns are needed to hike the awareness of the inhabitants notably of the south-eastern region of Illizi who have certain affinities with families living in Libya itself so as to make them accountable as part of joint security efforts with the relevant authorities.

And accordingly, the Interior and Local Assemblies Minister, Noureddine Bedoui, called during his inspection visit to Tamanrasset, a fortnight ago, on the local population and civil society to back up the constituent bodies and thus contribute to the defense efforts to secure the country while praising the efforts of the ANP elements and other security forces operating in the region for border protection and preservation of the stability of our nation.

As a matter of fact, this is the same discourse developed and advocated by the Secretary General of the FLN party, Amar Saadani as well as by the Secretary General of the MPA party, Amara Benyounès, who recently paid a three-day visit to Illizi for the purpose.

The latter said on the spot that addressing the hovering threats facing the country, requires a strong reaction on the part of all and sundry, necessarily involving a strong national cohesion and unity as a bulwark against these nefarious terrorist groups in order to ensure the preservation of the stability and security of the country.
