World Cup 2014 : Algeria 4-2 South Korea

Algeria Sunday hammered South Korea 4-2 after their defeat by Belgim and refreshed their hopes in the knockout stages.

The game took place in stadio Beira-Rio, Porto Alegre as part of the second match of the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

Striker Islam Slimani scored at the 26th minute followed by defender Rafik Halliche who scored the second goal two minutes later. Abdelmoumene Djabou’s goal came at the 38th minute and midfielder Yacine Brahimi’s at the 62nd minute.

Korea’s midfielder Son Heung scored at the 38th minute followed by striker Koo Ja-cheol at the 72nd minute.

As it was expected, Algeria coach Vahid Hallilozidch made changes to the main composition as he integrated defenders Aissa Mandi, Djamel Mesbah, midefielders Yacine Brahimi and Abdelmoumene Djabou and striker Islam Slimani.

The Desert Warriors should have had a penalty inside 10 minutes when Sofiane Feghouli was felled in the area.

They will play against Russia while South Korea will face Belgium next Thursday.
