PARIS- Novelist Yasmina Khadra said in Paris that Algeria “is not a story but an emotion” and that “we must go there to feel it and live,” he said.

“Through these meetings I’m trying, to popularize the African myth and direct people’s attention on Algeria. But nobody knows that this country remains an enigma to many countries,” he told APS on the sidelines of a meeting late Friday with a group of students from the University of Sana Diego on study tour in France.

“It is imperative that our country opens through successful initiatives and learn to wonder and marvel the others,” he said.

“We must try by every means to make this country visited and prove that it contains a very interesting world and a mentality and culture that could be used to enrich the culture of others,” he said, regretting that North Africa is limited for Americans and Western countries to neighbouring countries, while “Algeria is however a much more attractive and more interesting in every point of view.”
