Yebda to Echorouk: “The Greens are intent on securing sweeping victory over Tanzania”

The talented Algeria midfielder, Hassen Yebda, has said in an exclusive interview with “Echorouk” that the Greens of Algeria are determined to clinch a large victory over Tanzania on Friday at the Tchaker stadium of Blida in order to ward off any damaging surprises in the last round of the qualifiers for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations' football competition.  

• Hassen Yebda expressed the wish to be present on the pitch versus Tanzania stressing that he had prepared smoothly and intensively for this decisive fixture.
• Echorouk : To start with, how do you apprehend today’s confrontation against the national squad of Tanzania?
• Yebda : Well, we have prepared well for this confrontation and we are intent on wrenching a clear-cut victory in order to seal reconciliation with our fans after the 2-1 setback in a recent friendly game at home versus Gabon.
• Echorouk : Most of the fans assert however that a large win against Tanzania should be a foregone conclusion as this squad is not so fearsome …
• Yebda : I should point out that one should never under estimate or belittle our opponents.
• We should pull out all the stops on the pitch to carry the day with flying colours in order to avert the unfortunate Malawi scenario during the 2010 Africa cup of nations contest in Angola.
• Echorouk : And how do you see the scenario of the Tanzania qualifier?
• Yebda : Frankly speaking, we should be very cautious in defense and go on the offensive with the aim of scoring the maximum goals and not sustaining any goal during this decisive fixture.
• We badly need a large victory because we should not forget that we have also in our group the national squad of Morocco, which is a serious contender.
• Echorouk : Before your salutary transfer from Portsmouth to Italy’s team of Napoli, did you attend regularly the training sessions in order to keep fit and hale and hearty?
• Yebda : Of course, since my transfer to the Italian squad of Napoli and even before, I have never halted my training sessions at the highest level with the aim of always being in top shape in expectation of any football contest either with my club or with the Algeria squad.
