Young university graduates stage protracted sit-it in front of higher education Ministry

A large number of young university graduates, who have recently returned to Algeria after completing studies in Egypt, staged on Monday a prolonged sit-in in front of the Ministry of higher education and scientific research in upper Algiers.

 The disgruntled protesters demanded to be received by the higher education and scientific research Minister himself to whom they wanted to voice their pressing concerns and grievances regarding their immediate professional future with notably the official recognition by the Ministry of their respective of diplomas and  the early settlement of other pending matters linked to their end of studies’ cycle.

• The relevant authorities have so far turned a deaf ear to these graduates’ claims and some of them, in total despair, have threatened to set themselves on fire in front of the Ministry premises if their plight is not resolved shortly.
