12 Algerian Tourists Injured In A Bus Accident In Tunisia

A bus accident that was carrying 47 Algerian tourists from the city of Setif (eastern Algeria) and which was heading towards the Tunisian territory, left 12 injured.

The tourists continued their trip to the island of Djerba (Southern Tunisia).

Representative of the Tunisian Tourism Office in Algeria, Fouad El Oued, said that the preliminary data for the cause of the accident indicate the “exhaustion” of the driver, which started from the city of Setif (Eastern Algeria), until the incident occurred at the level of the cities of Mazouna in the province of Sidi Bouzid and Seghira in the city of Sfax.

As for the situation of the victims, El Oued told Echorouk, that the accident, left 12 injured among tourists who were transferred to the university hospital of Sfax, where a scan was conducted on one of the injured, and it was found that the situation is good, and another passenger whose shoulder was taken off in the accident.”

“It was decided upon instructions of the Tourism Minister, Salma Al Luomi, booking rooms for the injured at the Ibis Hotel in Sfax, and then continuing of their trip to Djerba and staying at the Haroune Hotel.”

As for the other tourists who were on the bus, Al Oued said: “They were housed in the secondary institute in the city of Sidi Bouzid, to take a rest, and continued their trip, and they are now in the Hotel Haroune in the city of Djerba in good conditions.”
