The People’s National Army (ANP) is waging an “asymmetric” counter-terrorism war both in terms of resources and methods, said the editorial of “El Djeich” magazine in its issue of themonth of August 2015, highlighting the need for greater caution, vigilance and mobilization.

“The ANP Army is carrying out an asymmetric war against the scourge of terrorism both in matters of resources and methods, requiring more caution and mobilization and is duly observing the rules laid down in this field of endeavor”, noted the Magazine.

“In this connection, it is necessary to recall that the cowardly crimes recently  committed against valiant ANP soldiers in western Aïn Defla province by criminal terrorist groups cannot throw the veil on the scathing defeats and the heavy blows sustained by these nefarious terrorist groups,” said the publication, recalling that during the last six months, more than 100 terrorists were eliminated and  significant quantities of weapons and ammunition were recovered”.

The ANP (Army) which has deployed significant human and material resources, will remain mobilized, ready, vigilant and determined to work relentlessly to thwart all attempts of infiltration of criminals across into our borders, until the final eradication of the remnants of terrorism,” said the magazine” El Djeich” in its latest issue.

The “colossal” efforts made by the Army in order to preserve the national sovereignty and defend the borders, are “a national duty arising from the essence of the constitutional missions of our armed forces,” said the magazine.

The determination and selflessness demonstrated by the ANP in accomplishing its missions with discipline and rigor, says the magazine, “had a decisive contribution” to its fight against terrorism and organized crime, and in the defense of the Algerian borders as well.

This rigor in the fulfillment of its missions has allowed to “to eliminate a significant number of dangerous terrorists, recover significant quantities of military weapons, ammunition and various military objects,” and “tighten the grip on the networks of smuggling and organized crime which are the allies of terrorism,” said the magazine.

The successes achieved by the ANP are “the fruit of the consistent efforts made with rigor, discipline and professionalism, reflecting a strong sense of national duty and an awareness and mobilization for preserving security and stability Algeria,” it added.
