The government starts freezing assets of Gaddafi in Algeria

Algeria has started freezing assets of Libyan officials and companies, in accordance with UN Resolutions 1970 and 1973, which stipulate on all member countries to abide the international embargo imposed on funds of Muammar Gaddafi, his family members and members of his regime.

In fact, Minister of Finance, Karim Djoudi has urged, via a secret instruction, banks, insurance companies and all local and foreign accredited institutions to start freezing assets having any relation to members of incumbent regime in Libya.

The freezing order targets Gaddafi, his sons, members of his family, a number of companies and groups which represents main investment groups and funds present in several countries worldwide.
