A large number of Algerians living abroad learn Arabic
A large number of young Algerians living abroad Foreign have joined languages private schools in Algeria. Their parents encourage them to learn English and Arabic.
The schools are opened between June and august for children and teenagers who want to learn languages including Chinese, Turkish and Indian.
Young Algerians living in France, Canada, the US, Australia and Arab countries joined those schools. Of them, El Fawz (success) School is based in Hussein Dey and the Hydra-based Algerian Center for Languages.
Interest in learning Arabic
It is very clear that Algerian living abroad want their children to learn Arabic fearing of loosing it.
A total of 12 young Algerians living abroad have joined language classes in El Fawz School.
“My son Karim learnt Arabic last year. He is proud of it,” said an Algerian parent living in Canada.
El Fawz’s Director Ouassila Ziane told Echorouk the school has received tens of young Algerians living abroad since 2014. They joined the school to learn Arabic.
“In July, we received 10 children between 8 and 12. They live in France and Spain,” she added.
Rayan, 6, said his father promised him a nice present of he learns Arabic.
High demand for the Association of Muslim Scholars in absence of capacities
It seems that Algerians living abroad want to learn Arabic and the Quran.
Mokhtar Bounab, the chairman of education committee at the Association, said requests made by Algerians living abroad for learning Arabic and the Quran are on the rise. Because of that, the Association proposed a programme for young Algerians living abroad. Yet, the project was not achieved due to the lack of capacities.
