An official in the National Shipping Company told Echorouk, on Tuesday, that the Algerian party and its Chinese counterpart reached a semi-final agreement, especially with regard to the book of conditions and criteria that will be provided in the giant ship and that will be allocated to international shipping lines, particularly the Spanish and French cities, which are known to transport about a quarter of a million passengers during the summer, to relieve the pressure and enhance the quality of services that is provided to customers, while the initial agreement provided that the construction of the ship will not exceed 26 months since the start of the completion, with a capacity of 1500 beds and 300 seats, in addition to a garage for 600 cars.
“Revenues of the National Shipping Company increased significantly over the past three years thanks to the diversification of the international lines network, especially towards the cities of Barcelona, Alicante, Marseille and Genoa, and the discounts and facilities that are approved by the company’s management, which necessitated the thinking about building a new ship to ensure the increased demand for journeys, with a total of 327 scheduled journeys between June 15 and September 15, to transport more than a quarter of a million passengers.
