Kamal Karrour, writer and journalist of Al Watan Al Yaoum publishing house, revealed that he had asked the lawyer to sue the retired general Khaled Nezzar and his lawyer, who threatened him with a “quasi-judicial excuse” after asking him to withdraw the book “Bouteflika, the Man of Destiny” in 48 hours.

Karrour said that the threat which was received by the publishing house is a dangerous precedent aiming to “stifle opinion and close thee mouths”.

He added in a phone conversation with Echorouk newspaper that the publishing house’s lawyers would file a judicial complaint because it is a clear threat and has nothing to do with the law and customs that are used in such “situations” and the behavior of Nezzar suggests that we are on a farm, and we are not in a state with laws and institutions that people can rely on.

In a related context, he said that there is a modern confusion in the minds of people because the content of the book, which is preparing to get out of the printing press is not doing anything that harms neither to President Bouteflika nor to Khaled Nezzar, and the reactions that followed were based on the statements of the writer Abdelaziz Boubakir in media statements.

“I was surprised by this new tribal control, which tries the intentions and threatens with the judicial services, confiscates the right of citizens to information, and hinders the movement of publication in our country and abuse the post-February 22 popular anger, which took a firm stance against the gods and inclusiveness”, he said.
