Abdallah Zekri firmly replies to Moqtada Al Sadr : “ If you’re a man, then fight “Daesh”!

This was the telling response of Abdallah Zekri, President of the French Observatory against Islamophobia to Shiite, of Iraqi origin, Moqtada al-Sadr, who is the head of the so-called “Sadria in Iraq.”

Indeed, Mr Zekri strongly decried Al Sadr’s recent inflammatory comments against Algeria, whereby the latter described the Shiite community as “oppressed” in its own country and advising it to unite with other minorities, without naming them.

“Moqtada Al Sadr must have an idea, of course, revolving inside his head by leveling such grave remarks urging sedition, while speaking of minorities with the insidious aim of stirring up trouble between the Algerians”, he emphasized.

Speaking from Paris in a telephone conversation with “Echorouk”, Abdallah Zekri vehemently lashed out at Al Sadr, telling him not to deal with what is happening in Algeria which is a sovereign country, and urging him instead, quote: “if you’re a man, then fight “Daesh”, unquote.

Mr Abdallah Zekri, who is also adviser to the Paris Mosque, accused Moqtada Al-Sadr of seeking to stoke  the fire of “fitna” or discord and advised him to mind his own country Iraq, where he is involved in manifold schemings before thinking about what is happening in Algeria.

He also said that Algeria is a fully-fledged independent country and does not let anyone interfere in its internal affairs.

Mr Abdallah Zekri also urged the authorities and representatives of civil society in Algeria to firmly respond to such sedition-oriented comments that aim to destabilize the unity, cohesion and security of the country.
