Abdelkader Khomri: “Algerian students confronted the Arab Spring like they did for terrorism”

Youth and Sports Minister, Abdelkader Khomri, praised the important role that was played by the Algerian students in establishing the principles of democracy, and that clearly appeared in their consciousness of the dangerous risks that are facing the country through combating terrorism and the Arab Spring, adding that this category will represent the future of Algeria because of the approaches that make them in the forefront.

Culture Minister, Azzedine Mihoubi, and the Youth and Sports Minister, Abdelkader Khomri, agreed on the occasion of the revival of the double ceremony of the Student’s Day and the establishment of the General Union of Algerian Students, due the significant role of the Algerian students, and their position that came from the cognitive abilities that made them contribute to taking the society to a new phase of development and progress.

For his part, Culture Minister, Azzedine Mihoubi asserted that the Algerian university is facing greater challenges, and it stood in the face of terrorism and the Arab Spring.

For his part, Secretary General of the General Union of Algerian Students, Moundir Boudene, said the students have the right to participate in the political arena, pointing out that the principle of rejecting the politicization of the university never conflicted with the need for the students’ practice of politics, as they are the elite of political act, reminding of the roles that were played by student during the different eras of the community.
