Adam Ounas moves to Napoli
Algerian player Adam Lounes Monday accepted to go to play for Napoli and will undergo a medical check up before signing a five-season-contract, French L’Equipe newspaper reported.
The 20-year-old midfielder was bound to a contract which expires in Summer 2021 with France’s Bordeaux club.
Earlier, Algerian international defender Fawzi Ghoulam’s move to Napoli was confirmed. This would have encouraged the Italian club to do the same thing with another player from the same country.
Ounas had received other offers from Italy’s Roma and Russia’s Saint Petersburg but the Bordeaux was not convinced by the financial offer.
Ounas played 30 matches for Bordeaux in 2016-2017 and scored four goals.
He will be part of The UEFA Champions League and may represent the Italian club with Ghoulam if the latter renews his contract.
Ounas was about to play the first international match with the Algerian national team against Nigeria last November. Yet, his injury excluded him from the game.
He was also supposed to be part of the African Cup of Nations finals in last January in Gabon before Algeria coach had banned him from the 23-player-list.
