Air France has cancelled for a second time during the month the catering of the “halal” meal menu on board its flights, in addition to the sudden lifting of ticket prices towards Algeria, sparking off considerable anger among Algerian travelers who bitterly criticized the untoward step taken by the French company saying the latter is practicing sheer discrimination against Algerians with the exception of all the other travelers.

This hapless situation has become unbearable since most Algerian travelers are compelled to travel on Air France flights to escape the staggering prices imposed by Air Algerie Company and its countless delays, especially during the summer season and the holiday periods.

The Algerian coordination against the high cost of ticket prices from France towards Algeria has sent several complaint letters to the Air France top management in which it listed these recorded gross lapses and discrimination practices on board the Air France flights bound for Algeria but has so far received no tangible explanations from the latter about the underlying causes of this unbearable situation facing most Algerian travelers.

In this context, the President of the Algerian coordination against the high cost of ticket prices towards Algeria Mr. Saleh Hadjab told “Echorouk” that Algeria is closest in terms of distance from Paris, but the Air France flight tickets are more expensive compared to Tunisia and Morocco which lie at a greater distance from France compared to Algeria.

He further pointed out the French airline company had covertly colluded with Air Algérie in “belaboring” the Algerian travelers and “draining” their money mostly because of the closing by the relevant Algerian authorities of the long-awaited free-wheeling competition by airline operators in the national air transport.
