Algeria: 22 terrorists eliminated by ANP forces in Bouira region

Forces of the National People’s Army (ANP) killed 22 terrorists in a major successful operation in the Bouira region east of the capital, the national defense ministry said on Tuesday in a communiqué.

The 22 armed extremists were shot dead as they were meeting in a forest to plan an attack on the Algerian capital.

The communiqué added that two others were captured in the assault Tuesday on the group meeting in the Boukram forest, east of Algiers.

A dozen Kalashnikovs, three rocket launchers and dozens of homemade bombs were recovered by the security forces.

Sources in the national gendarmerie’s Command post in Boumerdes, said intelligence services had informed the ANP forces of the terrorists’ meeting.

A large-scale combing operation conducted by combined forces is said to be still underway in the entire region.
