Algeria and South Africa push for increased trade relations

Visiting South African President Jacob Zuma and his Algerian counterpart, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, have agreed to ensure that bilateral relations between the two nations translate into increased economic and trade relations.

The South African President and several Cabinet ministers with dozens of local business leaders paid a state visit to Algeria.

South Africa and Algeria have vowed to ensure the full implementation of the more than 30 bilateral agreements signed between the two friendly countries.

President Zuma held talks with Bouteflika and ministers from the two countries were locked in the all important bi-national commission that sought to ensure the consolidation of the political and economic relations.

President Jacob Zuma says they want their relations to benefit both countries economically.

After concluding his Algerian visit, the South African President heads to the Egyptian capital where he will have official talks with President Abdel Fatah Al Sissi on further strengthening relations between Pretoria and Cairo.
