The acrimonious debate on the adoption of an official stance regarding a “normalization” of relations with the Zionist entity has again cropped up on the world scene, after the decision by Algeria to boycott a security meeting in Germany, because of the participation there of a delegation from the Jewish State, a position that remains erratic, because of previous attendance by Algeria in several international events in which Israel was involved in.

The German News Agency, reported that Algeria had boycotted the security meeting hosted by the capital of the German province of Bavaria, Munich, due to Israel’s participation.

Algeria was thus the second country to shun the Munich Security Conference at its fifty-first session for the same reason after a similar move by Turkey.

The source said Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, was supposed to represent Algeria at the Munich security conference, which wrapped up its proceedings on Sunday, but the Algerian Premier declined to attend at the last moment on account of the confirmed participation of  a delegation from  the State of the Zionist entity.

Turkey announced its decision boycott  through its Foreign Minister Djawish Aglou who said that Turkey  was supposed to take part in the Munich Conference, but because of the invitation sent to representatives of Israel to participate in a Roundtable on the Middle East situation, we have thus decided not to attend, unlike the Algerian side  who have not issued any official statement about such a boycott.
