Algerian League for the Defense of Human Rights revealed, in its annual report, on the decrease of the purchasing power offset by the emergence of a limited class of new riches and lobbies who are living in luxurious conditions and obscene extravagance, in addition to the low wages that have become, since a period, unable to meet the basic needs of large groups of society, and this due to the lack of wage policy.

ALHRD demanded taking immediate action to reduce those deep social inequalities and the elimination of various forms of poverty, marginalization and exclusion.

It reported, in its annual report, which copy is available to Echorouk, and which coincides with the sixty-seventh anniversary of the Universal Human Rights Day, that this year noticed many popular protests because of the dire situation that led to the bad living conditions in the rural and isolated areas.

Same report said that the General Directorate of National Security recorded, during the first 6 months of 2015, an increase in the pace of the protests through escalating more than 6,188 protests, with an increase of more than 62% compared with the first six months of 2014, when the number of protests reached 3866 protests.

“Social and economic situation in Algeria is characterized by a varying social unfair between different categories of citizens.”

It carried a warning of the phenomenon of suicide that took serious proportions among youth because of the frustration, a sense of failure and humiliation, as the league recorded, in the period between 2014/2015, more than 1,000 suicide cases annually in Algeria, and the category of youth and adolescent suicides, particularly among females.

ALHRD warned of the alarming rise of crimes and theft accidents, which multiplied in various Algerian areas, considering “The ongoing amnesty” that is enjoyed by the delinquents in many times, one of the most important reasons because most of the crimes are committed by the former criminals, as specialists recorded in Algeria approximately 700 daily crimes, and the phenomenon of guerrilla warfare took a serious turning point in the new neighborhoods.

Algerian League for the Human Rights’ Defense acknowledged an increasing illegal immigration in the recent months, blaming the government of not addressed the real phenomenon of clandestine immigration’s reasons, and the European border control organization “Frontex” of the outcome of its activity, during the first half of 2015, confirmed that the Algerian illegal immigrants are still at the forefront of nationalities that are the most arrested in the European continent, as they came in the tenth place with a census that exceeded 6,352 arrest cases.

According to official statistics of the Organization of European border control “Frontex”, the number of Algerian illegal immigrants who are arrested across the borders of the European continent, land, sea and air, reached more than 6,200 illegal immigrants, during the first four months, while most of the arrests across the European countries air borders included deportation decisions that reached half the number of detainees.

Statistics, that were published by the Frontex agency, shows that during the first four months of 2015, over 3150 Algerians were arrested across the European continent’s countries, and the number reached in the second four months over 3,202 illegal immigrants, which represents approximately 2.5% of the total number of illegal immigrants who were arrested across the European continent in the same period, as their number reach more than 200,000 cases of arrest.
