Algeria did not received concrete offer from “Orange”, Minister says
Algeria “has not received any concrete offer from the French mobile operator “Orange” to enter the Algerian market, Information and Communication Technologies, Zahra Derdouri, said on Saturda.
“Global mobile operator Vodafone is interested to enter Algeria.”
Minister Derdouri said in a statement to APS, regarding the question about the alleged “rejection” of the mobile operator Mobilis, to open its social capital to “Orange” which was discussed by the press, that until today the ministry does not receive any concrete offer from Orange to enter the Algerian market.
“French operator had expressed to the Algerian authorities his desire to enter the national market in the framework of cooperation with some of the mobile operators in Algeria.”
“We told Orange officials that we are open for dialogue and they have to make suggestions. Acceptance or refusal depends on the decision that was taken on the basis of a proposal that was submitted by the other party. We did not reject dialogue neither with Orange nor with the rest of operators”.
