Algeria Green Bloc parliamentary group, denied what it described as “continued violations of the republic laws, and the internal procedures of parliament, and undo the norms that characterized the institution for decades, by programming two important parliamentary activities, in the same time, asking government at the same time to open social discussion regarding the draft amendment of the Penal Code.

Opposition MPs who belong to the Islamic trend, consider that the draft penal code in its part about violence against women will help to open the door to disturb the stability of the family, through targeting the affection and compassion that characterize the Algerian family.
According to a statement that was published, on Wednesday, the draft law prescribed, in many of its articles, what opposed the constitution, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, demanding at the same time dragging it immediately, and widely opening the social discourse, especially since this project wraps on the family law, and works on dismantling and dividing it.
According to the House of Representatives, in the same statement, the council’s management continued the violation of the republic laws inside the so-called legislative institution, including the internal order of the Council, through down turning the customs that characterized this institution for decades, including consultation with parliamentary blocs, resulting in disturbances in programming session.
“It is unreasonable that the minister presents the current draft law in the autumn session, to be discussed in the spring session without a convincing justification.”
