Algeria Police Intelligence Overthrew More Than 20 ISIS Cells

National Security Intelligence Service (NSIS) ousted, this year, more than 20 cells that are linked to ISIS terrorist organization and that recruited youth through social networks, especially Facebook, for the benefit of terrorist organizations.

In the same period, police services received 1,800 reports of terrorist propaganda or participation in terrorist forums.
Echorouk sources said that the National Security Intelligence Services, or the so-called “intelligence police”, were able, through the teams of controlling the propaganda extremist websites, to decode the exchanged messages, by using a modern technological system that was developed by police officers, and thwarted many of the plans and terrorist attacks, as they overthrew in 2017 over 23 cells that have a direct relationship with ISIS even in Libya.
Investigations that were carried out by the “police intelligence” enabled the overthrow of 23 cells that are active in favor of “ISIS”, showing that these cells are targeting the youth of slums and tempting them with money because of the difficult conditions in which they live, and targeted cells of people with limited culture, while focusing to attract women of all ages by luring them and persuading them and sending them to ISIS in Libya, within the framework of the so-called “Jihad of Marriage”.
On the other hand, Echorouk sources added that between January,1 and March 31, 2017, police departments received between 1800 communications that are related to terrorist propaganda publications or participation in terrorist forums, and phone calls, whether by telephone or Internet, including suspicions of local or international terrorist organizations.
It is known that the “Electronic Army”, that is belonging to the National Security Intelligence Services, tracked the activity of the jihadist cells on the Internet accurately, and terrorist recruitment cells to fight in Syria and Iraq, in the ranks of ISIS, Annusrah, and Ansar Al Sham, and other groups that attract young Algerians, through tracking the Internet Protocol addresses “IP”, then tracking the people who have relations with these cells, which makes them succeed in preventing the enrollment of hundreds of Algerians in these terrorist organizations, and this in coordination with a number of Arab and Western countries, within the framework of security agreements between these countries.
