Algeria: Projected lessening of operating expenses by 50% in all departments
The Minister of Finance, Abderrahmane Benkhalfa, has brought out in line with an instruction No. 1532/2015 sent to him by the services of the Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, of which “Echorouk,” possesses a copy, the need for smooth rationalization at the level of each local administrations, especially local representations including the Governorships and Municipalities across the country, by displaying a spirit of responsibility, in the conduct of financial expenses devolved upon them.
The Prime Minister’s directive is aimed at primarily achieving optimization in allocation of resources and the containment of unnecessary expenditures by each local administration in order to reduce the adverse impact of this year’s severe drop in oil prices which hit hard the national economy, said the Finance minister.
Secondly, according to the Premier’s instruction, efforts geared to rationalization goals are meant to achieve a targeted curtailment in expenses of around 20 per cent by the end of fiscal year 2016, on the basis of registered credits.
