The commerce ministry reassured poultry and cattle food producers along with sheep farmers of the abundance of necessary materials. More than 167 importing licences were released to supply almost 3 million tons of corn and fodder to break prices.

The ministry said in a release that officials Monday held a meeting with poultry and cattle food professionals and producers along with sheep farmers. “It tackled the professionals’ concerns about cattle and poultry food marketing.”

It added that a million and 700,000 tons of corn, 250,000 tons of barely, 501 tons of soybeans and 20,870 tons of vitamin mineral supplements were submitted to importing licences system.

Earlier, professionals showed concerns about a possible shortage of cattle food ahead of Eid Al Adha. Because of that, many speculators increased prices to record levels.
