Recently, a video of a group of young Arabs in a closed room, which they said is a center for the shelter of refugees in Moscow, was published through social media.

The video shows that they suffer from very poor living conditions and inappropriate treatment by the center’s guards.

The youth, who said they were Algerians, Tunisians, Moroccans and Egyptians, traveled to Russia to follow the World Cup on Turkish Airlines and were stranded after missing out on a return flight, then they were arrested and detained at a refugee center, where they were forced to drink water from toilets and were not provided with food and were forced to buy it from the guards of the center at high prices.

They added that they were held at the center and received promises by the Russian authorities to keep them inside the center for 10 days, and then will be deported on scheduled flights to the countries from which they came, but after about 25 days they found themselves detained and required to purchase travel tickets at a cost of at least 400 euros per ticket, an amount which they do not have while they were held inside the center.

They showed an outside view of a building that is surrounded by trees and said it is a prison in Moscow.

They also show in the videotape, which appeared to have been taken by a young man’s mobile phone who was beaten and tortured by the center’s guards, and said the guards had deliberately kept them robbed of their money. While the source of this video was not confirmed, some sources told Echorouk that among the Algerian supporters who traveled to Russia to watch the Arab teams participating in the World Cup, there are two young men from the city of Medaourouche in Souk Ahras (eastern Algeria), calling upon the Algerian authorities to intervene to help them out of this center and bring them homeland.
