Algeria Takes Part In An International Wines Exhibition In France!

The International Wines Exhibition, held under the motto of “discovery, taste and marketing” this year, wrapped up on Wednesday in the French city of Bordeaux with the successful involvement of the relevant African Economic Commission.

Africa’s entry into the exhibition coincided with the last ten days of Ramadan. In addition to South Africa, which occupies seventh place globally, in wine production, the latter was joined this year, by Egypt and also by Algeria, through a private institution coming from the west of the country.

Representatives of French media outlets were told that the participation of the Algerian wine marketing was a clear breakthrough for the Algerian economy, adding that this Algerian institution sells 95 Percent of its wine production to the local market, while the rest is exported to Northern Europe and Canada.

The participation in the exhibition is meant to gain experience and improve production, as the owners of the producing institution are mostly young people who pledged to restore Algeria’s lost place in the rankings among the largest exporters of wine in the world, both in quality and quantity.

The Bordeaux event witnessed the attendance of exhibitors from around the globe especially from Spain, Portugal, France and the United States of America and Britain, also saw the visit nearly fifty thousand of trade professionals in the wine exhibition.

On the sidelines of this exhibition, there were many events and lectures, including the history of France with wine, and the French farm in Algeria at the beginning of the last century, which produced the best wines in the world. 

Algerian exhibitors expressed their happiness at participating in this exhibition and hoped that France would shortly open its markets to Algerian wines.
