Algerian aid convoy by sea to Gaza
An Algerian aid convoy for residents in the Gaza Strip was kicked off on Sunday under the supervision of the Association of Algerian Muslim Scholars.
The convoy’s departure point was the Algiers Port. A total of 14 containers of medical equipment, medicines, electrical apparatuses, food and clothes are carried by the convoy.
The operation was launched in 2014 but the transfer of the aid remained frozen because Egyptian authorities did not give the go-ahead. In February, they authorized the convoy to pass by Rafah crossing point.
The Chairman of the Association of Algerian Muslim Scholars Abderrezak Guessoum told a press conference in Algiers that the convoy came in critical circumstances.
He said resistance is accused of terrorism due to the crisis in the Gulf region.
