French President Emmanuel Macron secured Pparliamentary majority

Algerians living in France failed in gaining as many seats as possible in French Parliament in the last legislative elections. President Emmanuel Macron’s party was the biggest winner in those elections.

Algerian born citizens in France only gained three seats while their number is estimated at millions, according to unofficial figures and about a million, according to French official statistics.

Ibrahim Hamouche, a doctor and son of an Algerian immigrant, gained a seat as part of the Democratic Movement’s lists.

Algerian born Fadila Khattabi also gained a seat at Parliament along with Belkhir Belhaddad who gained a seat as part of Macron’s party list.

The surprise was in the failure of Algerian born Laila Aichi against her Moroccan competitor Abdelmadjid Al Gurab although she had more votes than his in the first round. A fabricated noise was raised about her as she supported the Algerian position towards the Western Sahara issue.

Aichi was part of President Macron’s party lists before she had been replaced by Moroccan born Al Gurab.
