Vice-chairman of the Enterprises Chiefs Forum Mohamed Bairi denied news reports about $260 billion-investment projects planned by Algerian businessmen in US city Detroit.

“Those news reports are baseless. All what happened was no more than misunderstanding. The mistake was made in making statements. Algerian officials talked about figures using Arabic dialect mixed with French. They were translated into English,” said Bairi.

He added that everyone should work hard in view of the current economic conditions and oil crisis. “Some people do not want to work and do not let the others work. Because of that, all of us should work and boost national economy.”

Earlier, the Algerian industry ministry denied news reports about $260 billion allocated to buy a bankrupt village in the US.
