Algerian family that was detained in Libya to return soon to homeland

Ms. Khetla Meriame, sister of the woman who was arrested with her mother, brother and husband, then they were detained for forty days in Libyan military barracks, told Echorouk, on Friday, that the members of the family enjoy good health, and they talked by phone on Friday.

“Mother Djamila who spent difficult days in custody because of her suffering from several diseases, as the Consul of Algeria in Libya, Ahmed Ben Izeddine, controlled from the Tunisian Gafsa, the family’s situation and promised to make additional efforts to provide conditions to return to Algeria soon. This is the problem of the family, which was released after a very brief trial, on charges of disturbing public order.”

“Their family here in Algeria is preoccupied about the financial terms, because when they were arrested in Libya they lost all their money, which forces their family in Constantine (east of Algeria), and Biskra (Southern Algeria) call upon the Algerian authorities to help them to return homeland, through any possible airline company, from Tripoli airport where different flights noticed a large disturbance, and the family members who were detained in November 1, then were released on December,10, talked about health, date and how to return to Algeria, amid a large mystery about the people who broke into their home in Tripoli and arrested them, and also the place and conditions of the detention, where they stayed forty days”.

Algerian detainees are the four members of the same family, including Ms. Hawaa Khetla, who was born in 1982, her younger brother, Abdeldjalil, 28, and her mother, Djamila, 65, and her husband of Palestinian origin.
