Algerian-French relationships are not damaged due to “Orly” incident, FM Lamamra says
State, Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, Ramtane Lamamra denied the occurrence of a crisis in the Algerian-French relationships, in an apparent response to the readings that doubted on its privacy, especially after the incident of the inspection, which was described as a shameful against the Communication Minister, Hamid Grine in Orly Airport last week.
Lamamra was received on Monday, by the French President, Francois Hollande, in the French capital Paris, where he is in an official mission along with the Industry and Mines Minister, Abdessalam Bouchouareb, to participate in the meeting of the Algerian French Mixed Commission.
Lamamra told APS after his meeting with the French President, a meeting which was also attended by the Industry and Mines Minister Abdessalam Bouchouareb: “This meeting embodies the quality of relationships between the two countries and the will of the two heads of states in the activation of a privileged partnership.”
Algerian diplomacy Chairman said: “I delivered a written message from the President Bouteflika to his French counterpart including the bilateral relationships and exchanging the views on international issues of common interest”, but without engaging in the details of what happened behind the walls.
Lamamra said he took the opportunity of this meeting with President Hollande to discuss the issues of common concern, especially those that are associated with the development of bilateral relationships, which he described as good, and other international issues, like the peace and security in the Maghreb, the Middle East, and the Sahel regions, in which Algeria played an important role through its success in gathering opponents of the crisis in Mali, at the dialogue table, , adding: “We discussed conflicts and crises around the world as well.”
Industry and Mines Minister, Abdessalam Bouchouareb said: “The Algerian-French relationships are characterized by a special nature. Mixed Algerian-French economic committee enhances daily economic and industrial relationships, which will encourage French investors to come to Algeria. It comes to investments that become more and more important”.
