During the last few months, Tunisia witnessed a significant decline in the number of Algerian tourists, who in recent years have preferred Tunisia as a first destination for their summer holidays.

Long lines of cars were formed in front of the crossing points towards Tunisian territory across the border states from Attaref to Oued Souf, passing through the markets of Souk Ahras and Tebessa (eastern Algeria), where the Algerian travelers spent long hours waiting for their turn to arrive at the border check point, and waiting for their passports to be stamped and the order to exit. However, this is no longer the case in comparison to the same period of the past few years.

Many of the parties attributed the follow-up to the file because of the decline in the number of Tunisians who visited Tunisian tourists this year to a number of factors and reasons that led thousands of Algerians to abandon the idea of spending the summer holidays in hotels and tourist vehicles in Tunisia, which rose the price of booking to 30% last year, after these hotels and tourism vehicles ensured the return of the Largest English Tourism Agency, which had left Tunisia since the terrorist attack in a Tunisian hotel in Sousse three years ago, as the return of this agency to deal with the tourist vehicles guarantees the largest number of foreign tourists who are coming from all European countries, which has changed their treatment towards Algerian tourists and give preference to foreign tourists in dealing even in prices and quality of services.

Many hotels and tourist vehicles in Tunisia have banned women from swimming with the Burkini or any other clothing, and stipulated that they should swim with the swimsuit, which raised controversy among Algerian families, who interpreted the matter as a target for them, especially those who used to spend their holidays in these hotels, and were surprised by this procedure, which was interpreted as a signal from hoteliers who did not want Algerian families to be present with foreigners.

Tunisians complained about the ill-treatment that Algerians received in Tunisia, unlike in previous years, when the Algerian tourist was treated like a king, and where he felt like undesirable, after the Tunisians changed their treatment with them, and the returnees from Tunisia spread of a number of news and videos that spoke of the occurrence of a number of excesses against the Algerian tourists, the last of which was a hotel that expelled a number of Algerian families from the residence, without reasons.

The Algerians who were receiving these news quickly changed their tourist destinations, and some of them only went to a coastal city in Algeria to spend a few days in the country, while others have been forced to book in hotels in Turkey or Morocco, after the Tunisian treatment of Algerian tourists has changed.

However, as soon as the English Tourism Agency returned, Tunisians forgot all about it and rushed to prefer the Europeans to the Algerians, as most of whom did not hesitate to answer all of this and change their tourist destinations to other countries.
