Russian authorities announced that it had been decided to replace the visa application to enter the territory of the Russian Far East (Vladivostok province) to 18 countries, including Algeria, by electronic registration, which would facilitate the movement of businessmen and tourists.

The procedure is not a total cancellation of the visa for Algerian travelers, but replaces the visa application with an electronic registration and thus this will make it much easier for those people wishing to visit the Russian Far East.
The Russian Embassy in Algeria made clear on Sunday that the news of the cancellation of the visa for the entry of Algerians into its territory is baseless. A diplomatic source from the Russian embassy told Echorouk that “the news about the abolition of the visa for Russia is groundless,” explaining that the visa-scrapping decision is confined to the province of Vladivostok only.
Russian Prime Minister Dimitry Medvedev said to this effect tourists and businessmen from 18 countries could enter the Russian Far East (Vladivostok province) without resorting to the usual traditional way of obtaining a visa, adding that among those who also  benefit from such a decision are Algerian nationals.
