Algerians are expected to take to the street after Jomoaa Prayer to show solidarity with Palestinians following a recent Israeli assault on Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The protests will come following the call of political parties, the Muslim Scholars’ Association and many civil society organizations in support of Palestine.

The MSP party called for a sit-in next to its headoffice. It also called for an official and popular movement to save Al-Qods.

“Al-Aqsa Mosque is a Wakf for all Muslims in the world. The Arab and Muslim nation should work together to stop Zionists,” it said in a release.

“Algeria should mobilize its embassy, Arab and international relations to intervene to end this provoking act,” it added.

Algerian Muslim Scholars’ Association called people, civil society organizations, political parties and national personalities to take part in a strong sit-in.

The Association’s vice-chairman Amar Talbi called on Algerians to give money to Palestinians in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Secretary General of Imams’ National Coordination Djelloul Hadjimi told Echorouk on the phone Al-Qods issue is not discussable.

“We have to set peaceful mechanisms so that Algerian public opinion will support the issue,” he added.

He also called on imams to focus in their Friday’s Speech on Al-Qods’ place and Zionist oppression.

Muslims all over the world even Christians are expected to protest against the attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque while rulers are keeping silent.
