Algiers Security Services Arrest 18.900 Criminals In The First 6 Months Of 2017

Algiers security services arrested, in the first six months of the current year, over 18900 suspected who were brought to justice, after processing 16101 cases.

According to a statement by Algiers security services, among those arrested there were 6755 people who committed offenses that are related to the possession and consumption of drugs and hallucinogenics, and 1,333 persons were involved in carrying banned white arms and 10,812 persons who were involved in various cases.

Among the issues that were addressed, security services recorded 1886 cases that are related to infringement upon properties, and 3965 cases that are related to acting against persons, including 12 cases of intentional death, but for misdemeanors and felonies against the family and public morals, Algiers security services dealt with 189 cases, and treated 3602 cases that are related to crimes and misdemeanors against the public, in addition to 671 cases of economic and financial crimes.

In the framework of the fight against drugs, over 6000 cases were treated, involving 6828 people, and seizing 98.23 kg of cannabis, 43168 hallucinogens, 388.39 grams of heroin and 160.44 grams of cocaine.

In the field of traffic prevention, the security services recorded more than 232,000 traffic violations, in which more than 19,000 driving licenses were withdrawn, while 444 traffic accidents were recorded, killing 19 people and leaving 500 injured.

On the other hand, Algiers Public Security Services carried out 7,946 maintenance operations, and in terms of the protection of urbanization and the environment, the public security services carried out 148 demolitions on the order of the administrative authorities.
