Man No 2 in the banned-Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) Ali Benhadj said influential personalities in the regime contacted the FIS but it rejected their offers because it works within clarity, ethics, religion and honor.

“The FIS is not a parasite neither does it want to embarrass any one. It is still working either it is accredited or not. Although it was banned, its faithful men are still working, chased and prosecuted,” said Benhadj in a release.

“The Democratic Transition Coordination includes accredited parties only. Because of that it excludes the FIS totally like what authorities do. The Front does not want to cause a conflict. We continue working either we attend the Coordination’s conference or not,” he added.

Benhadj classified opposition parties into three groups: hesitated and perturbed accredited parties, unaccredited prosecuted parties and an ignored party which is people.

“The ignored party represents most of the Algerian people who boycotted the presidential elections and do not find any trustful executive,” he said.

He believes that people who can not find a political way to claim their rights will take to the street to get them.

Le FIS est un parti qui a une très grande base de militants et de sympathisants malgré sa dissolution injuste.
Sa présence est incontournable et il doit être soutenue par tous les partis de l'opposition.
