Amar Ghoul: “No Five Stars Hotels without professionalism”

Government decided to tighten control on investors in the sectors of tourism and hostelry, through the new book of conditions that organizes the activity and the reclassification of hotels, as starts will be taken off from the hotels that are not eligible and new “stars” will be granted to the hotels that have proven their efficiency in customer service and attracting tourists, and it was also decides to adopt strict terms for the development of the sector, which is still disappointing, in light of the dwindling oil exports.

Urban Development, Tourism and Handicraft Industry Minister, Amar Ghoul, said that the state will work to upgrade the culture and tourism to rectify the weakness that was registered in conducting tourist facilities, whether the public or private, and that by putting new conditions on the book of conditions for the conduct of facilities and tourist spaces, adding: “We will develop conditions in the field, and we will also reconsider the Stars’ rating according to the degree of professionalism.”
Ghoul asserted on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the school day for the parliamentary group of Liberals at the National People’s Council, in coordination with the Ministry of Urban Development, Tourism and Traditional Industry, that the tourism sector includes over 936 important tourist projects worth 400 billion ZDZ, that would provide 50.000 jobs.
“My ministerial department will work for the rehabilitation of 66 public tourism institutions in terms of structures and framing.”
“The sector will put forward a new strategy that will give a dynamic for the sector, through the granting of incentives and facilities for investors, to take advantage of the tourism property, in addition to rectifying the shortcomings that are recorded in the sector, and work on granting facilities for those who are interested in investment.”
