Transport Ministry finished the preparation of a proposal that is related to the lifting of financial penalties by 2,000 ZDZ for all traffic violations, like the use of a mobile phone, security belt, and illegal use of the urgency line, excessive speed and other traffic violations, before transferring them to the Prime Ministry by the end of this month.

Official sources at the Transport Ministry told Echorouk that the decision to raise the value of traffic violations by 2,000 ZDZ, came in the framework of tightening the deterrent measures to violators of traffic laws and crazy drivers, despite the sanctions that were imposed by the new traffic law and despite the deterrent means, radars, cameras and cars that are used by the gendarmerie and police services.

In the details of the proposal, the offenses for manual use of the mobile phone while driving will notice an increase of 6,000 ZDZ instead of 4,000 ZDZ. And the same procedure will be applied on all violations like the excessive speed, driving on the urgency line, dangerous maneuvers and driving in the wrong direction and other traffic violations that often lead to fatal accidents.

Same sources added that the proposal that will be submitted by the end of November will be accompanied by a detailed outcome of the disastrous results that are caused by these traffic violations per year, as they lead to the death of 4,000 people per year, with an average of 13 dead and 125 wounded per day, in the sense that this traffic violations kill an Algerian every three hours.

This confirms that traffic accidents in Algeria turned into a real terrorism, due to what happened in the roads due to the madness of a large group of hotheads who cause daily tragedies and thousands of victims.
