Animals food importing licences released

A joint ministerial committee released 167 licences to import more than 3 million tons of animals food. This comes after examining 228 applications for licence.

The commerce ministry said in a release that the committee was based on technical and objective criteria. Priority was given to economic operators who produce animals food.

Selection criteria included production toll, employment rate and distribution.

A total of 42 licences were released to import 432,076 tons of barley, 60 licences to import 2 million and 145,321 tons of corn. 

The ministry also granted 37 licences to import 490,514 tons of soya meal.

Few days ago, licences to import home appliances, mobile phones and cosmetics were released. Cars importing licences have not been released yet. This caused the delay of Algeria’s Cars Exhibition.
