National People’s Army troops (ANP) succeeded in eliminating Sunday two terrorists of Libyan nationality including one linked to an extremist group led by terrorist chieftain alias Mokhtar Belmokhtar, based along the southern border inside Libyan territory.

According to Echorouk’s sources, the army troops stationed on the southern border spotted the suspicious movement of a four-wheel drive vehicle which had sneaked into the national territory coming from Libya.

The ANP soldiers swiftly intercepted and destroyed the incoming vehicle which was carrying two dangerous terrorists of Libyan nationality, one of them called “Jalal Al-Din Al-Misrati”, the same sources added.

This successful anti-terrorist operation came in the wake of a three-day working visit of inspection paid earlier this week to southern regions of Algeria by the vice-national defense minister and Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah who enjoined the ANP troops stationed there to show full determination, rigour and utmost vigilance in securing Algeria’s borders.
