Armed forces seize 500 war weapons, rocket-propelled grenades and detonators in 6 months

National People’s Army forces seized, during large military operations and hunting the mafia and barons of smuggling weapons, more than 500 military weapons like the Kalashnikovs, rifles, machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and detonators, and a large quantity of ammunition and explosives, attack traditional bombs, and TNT quantities within 6 months only.

Detailed outcome for the seized quantity of weapons within 6 months of the current year, which copy is available to Echorouk, shows that the National People’s Army forces is fighting the so-called “tsunami of weapons”, especially as the Algerian border that extends along 6000 kms, are still inflamed because of the deteriorating security situation with the neighboring countries.

In terms of figures, the National People’s Army troops seized, across the six military regions, during the 6 months of the current year, over 523 weapons of various types, but the Kalashnikovs broke the record in the total seizures, followed by RPK, RPG and Semenov machine guns rifles, and Tokarev pistols, hunting rifles along with detonators and rocket-propelled grenades and anti-tank rockets.

In a related context, the outcome revealed that April broke the record in the number of seized weapons, as the National People’s Army seized 47 rocket-propelled, 24 Kalashnikovs, four machine guns, rockets and shells of the type RPG and 9 CPG, as well as ammunition, hand and offensive grenades, and explosives.
