Austerity touched “popular projects”

Austerity policy reached ministries which have always been “excluded” from expenses optimization. The government totally and partially froze equipment projects at the housing, education, interior and water ministries.

The finance ministry gave an instruction to the housing, education and interior ministries to have control on equipment operations treatment, according to an official document.

Secretaries General of the ministries were informed that the procedure is part of financial optimization upon a request of the Prime Minister.

The document shows that all the equipment operations meant to build infrastructures and facilities were not launched. They were all frozen except those who had licence.

The government also decided to freeze administrative department cars purchasing operations.

As for cars purchasing as part of public deals, the finance ministry ordered to examine the deals which were granted to importers. The other deals will be frozen.
