Administrative departments noticed, days before the expiration of 2014, a dense overcrowding because of the Biometric passport, where the number of applications exceeded, during December, in some passports’ services in Algiers, over 200 requests per day, similar to Hussein Dey District, which noticed last Thursday, a crowd of citizens, as this comes before 2015, as the stamp’s price rises to 6,000 DZD, after it cost in the previous years only 2,000 DZD.

Given the state of overcrowding in major constituencies in Algiers, by those who are wishing to obtain a Biometric passport, an agent was assigned to help deliver a copy of data to citizens, who did not prepare the files, and this fearing for depletion.
A worker in Hussein Dey District, said a lot of persons withheld the simple passports, which validity will end in 2015, and obtained a declaration of lost in order to gain time and to obtain a Biometric passport before the stamp taxation will rise to 6,000 DZD.
An official in Baraki District, that citizens circumvented this time and resorted to a lot of ways to get a Biometric passport before 2015, creating a sort of chaos and suffering in the study files, noting that some of them obtained false certificates of residence to accept their files through depositing the old passport, which is still valid for the new year in order to obtain a Biometric passport with a 2,000 DZD stamp.
