Bouteflika: “Promoting Dialogue With Partners Is Important To Fight Unemployment”

President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, said in a speech that was delivered on his behalf by the Post and Communication Technologies Minister, Houda Iman Feraoun, on the importance of eliminating unemployment in the African continent in general, and Algeria in particular, which attaches great importance to the employment file, which is a priority of national action plans.

In his speech at the opening of the African Economic Forum on Saturday, at the Hostelry Superior School in Algiers Ain Al Beniane, she mentioned the challenges that are faced by Algeria and the African continent, due to the economic crisis and unemployment.

“Algeria has always and in all international forums expressed absolute priority to create jobs for its citizens, to eradicate the root causes of migration and extremism, especially as thousands of young Africans end their journey of hope in search of a better life in Europe in the depths of the Mediterranean Sea, and the few who survive the drowning are exploited by extremist and terrorist groups”.

“Algeria is striving to support activities that are aiming to develop the economic transformation, to create an added value and to develop the sectors that create jobs, and create the revolution, especially those that support competencies and fight unemployment by qualifying for employment.”

“Unemployment is one of the most important concerns in Africa, and despite the increase of development rates in this field by the continent did not create the necessary jobs, in light of the low prices of fuel and the spread of insecurity that is associated with terrorism and organized crime. Elimination of unemployment can only be achieved by crystallizing a common view among workers, employers and governments, and create partnerships between African and international institutions and organizations that are active in the field of job creation”.

“Algeria’s efforts in the promotion of the labor market, similar to the upgrading of small and medium enterprises, through the establishment of solid bridges between education and training and the labor market, and working to promote the sectors of creating jobs, such as agriculture, tourism, industry, and services, and the social economy to accommodate the parallel economy, and on top of these efforts there should be the upgrading of dialogue with the social partners, as a tool for the development of the social contract on employment and the establishment of a balanced system of social protection, as Algeria is seeking through the economic renewal program out of dependence on hydrocarbons, and is betting on public and private economic institutions, through its support and enhancing their competitiveness and production to create a revolution and the inauguration of jobs”.
